I used rpcinfo -p option to check if the daemons are running. Nfs Port rpcinfo -p gives the same output as I get in the other client machines. There should be several "[nfsd]" threads and an "rpc.mountd" in the server's process list, and "rpcinfo -p server" should include "nfs" and "mountd" entries.
